GAB envisions that this would be extremely beneficial to tourists visiting the country,
irrespective of whether they are regional or international. GAB reasoned that proper management has become inevitable to maximize benefits from regional tourists, especially in view of Bhutan being promoted as a high-end destination.

“Contrarily, our tourist sites are already facing tremendous pressure. Tourist sites are overcrowded as regional tourists drive their own vehicles, and along the paths or trails
leading to them are many unattended litter and garbage. Many of the regional tourists are not even aware of the dos and don’ts as they visit religious and cultural sites in the country. Some would even not mind to barge in and seek explanation from a tour guide who is already busy catering and in service of another international tourist. It becomes chaotic especially during the peak season,” GAB stated in a letter to TCB.
